Talks are underway for a "possible development" near the WFCU Centre.
Windsor Mayor Drew Dilkens says the city is in talks with the owner of the nearby property along Lauzon Rd. at McHugh St. for a possible development.
"Details are still being worked out but it could include a combined residential, retail and a sports component" says Dilkens.
He says there is potential around the WFCU Centre. "We know that where it is today it is good for a lot of people but there is an island effect that has been created. If we can generate more activity on that site and it would be better for the site, the businesses and the commercial businesses on Lauzon and around that area Lauzon and Tecumseh."
Dilkens hopes to bring the plan to council in 2017 and it says it aligns with the 20 year vision that the current city council created.
