Kingsville's fire chief has been released from custody.
60-year old Bob Kissner appeared in court by video this afternoon after being charged on the weekend with sexual assault and sexual exploitation.
His lawyer Ken Marley says the allegations against Kissner have been crushing.
Kissner is released on a personal recognizance on his own promise to the court to abide by certain conditions.
If he fails to abide by the conditions, he will have to pay $15,000 and could face time in jail.
Marley says Kissner is on bail under conditions relating to him not being in contact with the alleged victim, residing in his own home and reporting periodically to Leamington Provincial Police.
He says the past three days have been tough for Kissner and are personally and professionally damaging.
Marley says Kissner has been in jail since his arrest: "he has been held in custody for no good reason for three days instead of being released on the same day as his arrest"
Kissner is ordered to return to court January 10th.
