It is a lesson in giving for students at H.J. Lassaline school in Forest Glade.
Sixty-two students, six teachers and five parents have been knitting hats for leeleehats and making plastic mats for the homeless.
For the past few months, they've been getting together during lunch and recess to knit the donations resulting in over 380 hats and 10 mats.
"It makes me feel good because I get to help people and get them warmer," says Grade 5 student Yolanda Ruban.
Nevaeh Hie is in Grade 5 and says it became one big happy family.
"It was a fun experience because I got closer to my friends and I made hats for kids for winter and now I learned how to make hats and I didn't know how to do it in the beginning," she says.
