The Essex Region Conservation Authority has issued a Flood Outlook for the area.
With waterlogged soil conditions from recent rains and a significant rainfall expected overnight, there is the potential for flooding.
Current forecasts are advising of the potential for 15 to 30 mm of rain over the next 24-hour period.
Based on the existing ground conditions and the current forecasted rain, there is a concern for the accumulation of standing water in low lying areas throughout the Essex Region, especially around floodplain areas of the major waterways and shoreline areas.
ERCA urges people to be cautious and avoid rivers, lakes, ditches, streams, and ponds.
The release adds that children, pets and livestock should be kept away from flowing and standing water.
The Flood Outlook is in effect until noon tomorrow. (April 4)
