There were a lot of "I do's" in the town of LaSalle.
The town began issuing marriage licences this year and so far it has issued 103.
Town Clerk Brenda Andreatta says that's about three times what the town was expecting.
"We weren't sure what the response was going to be" says Andreatta. "Some of our neighbouring municipalities had established programs for a number of years and I wasn't certain that folks would know to come out to the town of LaSalle, so I may have estimated it conservatively but we are pleased with the outcome of it."
Andreatta says there were even some marriage ceremonies at town hall. "It is in our civic centre and we've conducted just under 20 since starting to offer that service midway point this year and folks who are interested can get married in front of our living green wall or in our civic centre."
Given the response, she expects the town will continue the service.
