A medical marijuana facility in Leamington is running a bit behind schedule, but is close to completion.
Aphria is currently in the finishing stages of it's part 2, 57,000 square foot expansion.
CEO Vic Neufeld says they're also underway with the part 3 expansion and when all of that space is done next fall there will be 300,000 square feet of greenhouse space.
Neufeld says a few construction issues have delayed them a bit mostly with sub-contractors getting materials and a couple of design changes.
He says they'll be ready to call in the regulators before Christmas.
Neufeld say he'll send the correspondence to Health Canada in Ottawa for them to schedule a site visit of the Ontario inspectors, then it's the waiting game.
He's hoping that by February they'll get the green light. And then 3 months after that full crop rotation and harvest.
Neufeld says there is no difference in the inspection because they already have an approved facility, it is the same inspection as if it were new.
Aphria began its expansion program with the purchase of additional land in July.
