Enwin Utilities has issued an alert warning customers about potential door-to-door scammers.
It received some calls yesterday from customers indicating someone had been at their door trying to get into their home to test the water to see if they needed to install a water filter.
The stranger did not have ENWIN I.D so the homeowners didn't let them in.
Enwin Spokesperson Barbara Pierce Marshall says Enwin representatives always carry I.D: "On occasion we do need to have access to people's homes but if we are going to be coming to your door, we will notify you by mail or phone or some way we always notify our customers in advance"
Pierce Marshall says the strangers did not have ENWIN I.D., and the utility did notify Windsor police about the situation.
