The ratification vote will be held on Thursday in Kingsville

A strike may have been averted for a Kingsville spring and coil manufacturer.

Peterson Spring and its 55-employees have come to a tentative agreement as of Monday afternoon.

Unifor Local 444 President Dave Cassidy couldn't get into details, but did say the bargaining committee is recommending workers accept the deal.

"Anytime you go into contract talks people want gains. We dealt with their issues and we have a great tentative in place," he says. "We're anxious to bring it back to the members for ratification."

He tells AM800 News the company supplies parts for many different companies.

"This workforce has been around for years and years, they're considered a tier three and tier four supplier to the OEM [Original Equipment Manufacture]," says Cassidy.

Cassidy says the time and location for the ratification vote are still in the works, but it will be held on Thursday in Kingsville.
