DWBIA hosting SwiftMas Christmas Contest

The Downtown Windsor Business Improvement Association is getting ready for the holidays.
The DWBIA has launched a Christmas contest with two grand prizes.
Speaking on AM800's The Morning Drive, ward 3 city councillor Renaldo Agostino says it's a 'Swift-Mas Christmas Contest' with one of the top prizes being a trip for two on VIA Rail to Toronto to go see Taylor Swift in concert next November.
He says the other top prize is a Staycation package with two tickets to a Detroit Lions game, two tickets to a Windsor Spitfires game and two tickets to a show at Caesars Windsor.
Agostino says anybody that buys something from a downtown business from December 2 to December 27 is eligible to enter the contest.
"You'll take a picture of your receipt, you'll upload it to a site and that will automatically include you in the draw and you can enter as many times as you'd like," says Agostino. "So if you go to every Tim Hortons downtown, Starbucks, Coffee Exchange, doesn't matter everytime you buy something downtown, doesn't matter what it it, you get entered into this contest."
He says the more you spend downtown, the more chances you have to win.
"Anybody who comes down the day of the Santa Claus Parade and until December 27 and does some business in downtown Windsor buy anything at any store, could be a coffee, could be a drink, could be something at a retailer, could be a dinner at a restaurant and you get a chance to enter to win two grand prizes," says Agostino.
Agostino says the contest is for businesses in the DWBIA boundary.
"This is something that's going to drive people to our stores, our restaurants, our bars downtown, our retailers, come on down," says Agostino.
The 55th annual Windsor Santa Claus Parade takes place this Saturday at 6 p.m.
It starts on Ouellette Avenue at Wyandotte Street to Riverside Drive and then heads down Riverside Drive to Caron Avenue.
