Another season has come to an end at the Downtown Windsor Farmers' Market.
The market officially shut down for the season Saturday. It was suppose to close Thanksgiving weekend but ended up staying open until October 27.
Sarah Cipkar is the Community Development Coordinator for the Downtown Windsor Community Collaborative.
She was it was a busy market season with up to 35 vendors taking part every week.
"Almost every week we were full of vendors for the majority of the season and vendors were really happy with the amount of people who came through and they definitely had a great year," says Cipkar.
She says planning is already underway for the 2019 season.
"We already have a meeting planned and we're looking on how we can build on the success of this year and maybe look at ways of expanding and doing pop up markets during the off season," says Cipkar.
The market was located on Pelissier St. between Wyandotte St. and Park Ave. It was also on Maiden Lane.
Cipkar says it continues to grow each year.
"What we've realized over the last year is that the market has really become a destination instead of just a market," she says. "So what you'll see is families with their kids coming by to see the entertainment and then they'll stay for a couple of hours. They'll do all their shopping, they'll get their groceries and then they'll also stay and enjoy the food."
The market opened May 26.
