The County of Essex has a new emergency response plan.
On Wednesday, Essex County Council approved the revised plan.
Emergency Management Co-ordinator Dan Metcalfe says the plan has to be updated once a year and sent to the province.
He says the plan looks at risk management, flood plans, source water protection, and weather emergencies.
Metcalfe feels the plan will better prepare the county and its residents.
"I'm hoping for the community it means more resiliency, better awareness and notification, alerts and I think that's occurring both in the provincial and federal level and on the municipal side of things," says Metcalfe.
Metcalfe says the original plan was created by Phil Berthiaume.
