Comber Woman Wins In Cancer Society Lottery

A Comber resident hopes to have a more comfortable retirement thanks to a win from the Canadian Cancer Society's Lottery.
Sue Dunn's ticket was the winner for the $70,000 Jaguar F-Type sports car.
She chose to take a cash payout instead, giving her 90% of the car's value plus $10,000.
Dunn jokes she may go to the Jaguar dealer and sit in the car for a few minutes with her cheque.
Dunn says learning she had won was quite a surprise.
"I had come home for lunch one day and phoned the canadian cancer society back and she said she had some good news for me. I said OK, should I sit down? She said yeah and told me and I said Oh My God"
Dunn says a fancy car was not what she needed.
"Retirement, yeah retirement. Like I say if I was 40 years younger it'd be spent on a lot of different things. But right now with the economy and that, it'll be put aside for retirement"
Cindy Vinall, Senior Manager of Community Offices with the Canadian Cancer Society says some of the research funded by the lottery is here.
"We are funding a number of clinical trials happening right here in Windsor right now. You know wherever the most leading edge cancer research is is what we're funding. Yes it is in Windsor"
Vinall says the lottery brought in $3.4-million for the national cancer society.
Of that money $600,000 goes to the Wheels of Hope program and the rest goes to cancer research.
