A Collision Reporting Centre has now opened in Essex County.
The centre in Lakeshore will allow drivers involved in a crash where no one is hurt to report the collision.
It eliminates the need for people to call 911.
Drivers can move their vehicles, if drivable, to a safe location where they can exchange driver's licence, vehicle and insurance information.
If the damage is estimated to be more than $2,000, the crash mush be reported within 48 hours.
The centre is located at 1219 Hicks Rd. in Lakeshore and it is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 4pm.
OPP Inspector Glenn Miller says the goal is to streamline the process.
"The introduction of the Collision Reporting Centre in Essex County is an excellent example of the collaboration between the OPP and the motorists we count on to help keep our roads safe. This enhanced process will help reduce traffic congestion and keep traffic moving when collisions occur."
A similar centre is located in Windsor on Jefferson Blvd.
