Christmas comes early with Sparky's Toy Drive, as they continue to give to people in need.
With the help of Windsor firefighters, FCA employees and many other local organizations, thousands of toys were distributed at the Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare gymnasium on Prince Road Saturday.
Coordinator Ken Vickers says this is the best part of the Christmas season.
"This is like Christmas Eve for us because this is the day that everything comes together," he says. "We've been packing toys for 3,000 children since April and now we get to see them. We get to see their moms and dads, and the expressions on their faces, and Merry Christmas and hugs."
Vickers says this wouldn't be possible without community love and support.
"Everyone is so happy. All our volunteers have put in a lot of sweat to put this together."
Windsor firefighters and police will be handing out toys to children in the hospital next week, and they will be delivering toys to the Multicultural Council of Windsor and Essex County for Syrian refugees.
Toys will still be handed out at Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Sunday, Dec. 11 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
