Canada's women's national hockey team is hitting the ice later this month in Leamington.
The team is taking part in a series of practices and scrimmages March 24-29 ahead of the 2017 IIHF Women's World Championship in Plymouth, Michigan.
Canada's pre-tournament camp will be hosted at the Leamington Kinsmen Recreation Complex. Practices and games are free and open to the public.
The team's roster was announced last month and features 23-players including Ruthven's own Meghan Agosta.
Leamington Mayor John Paterson sees this is a potential boost for the area.
"I hope they have time to have some social time to get out and about in our area, not just leamington but in the entire county and specifically in leamington for sure and yeah, I would suspect they would be staying in our motels and eating in our restaurants," says Paterson.
Canada is scheduled to open the championship against the U.S on March 31st.
