Its the 8th Super Bowl appearance for New England since 2001

Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots are heading to their eighth Super Bowl since 2001.

New England knocked off Jacksonville 24-20 in the AFC Championship Game on Sunday to advance.

New England trailed by 10 with less than nine minutes remaining before Brady engineered one of his patented comebacks, connecting with Danny Amendola on two fourth quarter touchdowns for the win.

Blake Bortles threw for 293 yards and a touchdown for the Jaguars, but they managed just two field goals in the second half.

With the loss, Jacksonville missed out on the franchise's first Super Bowl appearance.

Since Brady became the Patriots' starter in 2001, he and Belichick have guided the Pats to 12 AFC title games, eight Super Bowl appearances and five Super Bowl wins.

Their eighth Super Bowl appearance will kick off on February 4th at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
