A Windsor man charged in a vicious assault on a senior on the Ganatchio Trail has had his charges upgraded.
Habibullah Ahmadi, 21, also known as Daniel, was originally charged with aggravated assault, but it has been upgraded to attempted murder.
Earlier this month, 75-year-old Sara Anne Widholm was picking up garbage along the trail in east Windsor when she was assaulted.
Before he was arraigned on the upgraded charge, Justice of the Peace Selma Jafar denied him bail so he will remain in custody.
Ahmadi's lawyer Patricia Brown says she accepts the decision.
"I respect the decision and we will review and see what the next steps will be," she says.
Wildholm remains in critical condition in the hospital.
The case returns to court later this month.
