An early-morning shooting in Amherstburg has left one man in hospital in stable condition. He was originally listed with life-threatening injuries but police have since updated his condition as 'stable' as he continues to recover in a Detroit hospital.
Police say officers were dispatched to the 100-block of Sandwich St. N. (just south of William St.) around 2:30am Friday.
Authorities say the victim is a 31-year-old Amherstburg man who is suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Amherstburg police have no one in custody. The search for a suspect continues.
Sandwich St. between Texas Rd. and St. Arnaud is closed ask police continue to investigate.
Drivers are being asked to avoid the area.
