An alert citizen is getting some credit from Windsor police.
On Tuesday, officers responded to a theft in progress call in the 400 block of Wyandotte Street West around 1:40pm.
Police say a citizen saw a suspicious man trying to open car doors and was seen getting into one vehicle.
The citizen called police and when officers arrived, they found the suspect getting out of the vehicle.
He was arrested without incident.
Police say stolen property was in his possession.
A 26-year-old manĀ from Windsor is charged with theft under $5000, possession of stolen property and breach probation.
Windsor police are also reminding the public to Lock It or Lose It and keep personal belongings out of sight.
