The advisory was put into place Wednesday, August 15 due to visible bluegreen algal blooms

An advisory has been lifted at Point Pelee National Park.

Parks Canada issued the advisory on Wednesday, August 15th due to visible blue-green algal blooms.

The park had been asking visitors and pets to refrain from swimming or wading into the water off the beaches along the western shore of the park.

The algal blooms in Lake Erie could pose a health risk.

But Parks Canada Communications Officers Rae Kingdon says the advisory is no longer in place as the algal blooms are no longer visible.
