It's April 20th, also know as 4/20, an unofficial holiday for marijuana users.
A 4/20 Festival will be held in downtown Windsor as part of a global celebration calling for the legalization of pot.
That has Windsor police sending out a warning ahead of the gathering.
Chief Al Frederick says even though legislation is in the works to legalize pot in Canada, it has yet to happen and possessing the drug is still illegal. "We don't blur the lines between what may come and what is on schedule to come. Today marijuana is illegal, and anybody who possesses or traffic in marijuana today, is subject to prosecution."
Chief Frederick is promising a police presence during 4/20 Fest.
The pro-cannabis rally takes place in Charles Clark Square today between 11am and 9pm.
