Parents having babies over the coming year will get a tool to make sure their infant has good oral health.
The Essex County Dental Society has partnered with the Windsor-Essex County Health Unit and the City of Windsor on a new initiative.
Windsor dentist Dr. Dominic Aversa says it's called a 'Shark Bag' and it contains a package of information on infant oral health. "Preventing destruction of those teeth possibly due to lack of good oral hygiene or possibly due to bad dietary choices, so we want to get to them early and make sure they're making some good choices prior to those primary teeth growing in."
The shark image was chosen for the program because it shows alot of teeth.
You can find out more on the program during AM800's 'The Afternoon News' today during the Healthy Active Living segment at 4:20pm.
