An open house will take place this afternoon to display plans for the University's new Lancer Sport and Recreation Centre (LSRC).
Plans and renderings will be available for students and the entire campus community to review.
Project Spokesperson, Michael Khan says the $73-million project will offer a modern space to foster athletic excellence and support quality recreational services and social spaces for thousands of students and the community at large.
"It would include new components like a triple gymnasium for seating for 2,500 spectators, a new pool, several multi-purpose areas, we're going to triple the size of the fitness area," says Khan
The open house takes place from 2pm-7pm at the Alumni Auditorium, CAW Student Centre.
In a February 2017 referendum vote, students voted in favour of the new building.
The University has agreed to fund $18-million towards the project, while students attending the university will contribute $55-million over the next 30-years. The University also says it will fund all operational costs over the lifetime of the building.
