18Million Fitness Centre Coming to Windsor

Windsor based Movati Athletic has announced an $18-million development to build the largest fitness centre in southern Ontario.
Located just south of Devonshire Mall, it will create more than 150 construction jobs and 125 permanent positions when it is completed in early spring 2020.
The 70,000 square foot club will offer an upscale, lifestyle-oriented fitness experience and will showcase open-air sky yoga, hot yoga, and pilates.
It will be two levels, and will feature two swimming pools, including a women's only pool, studio and fitness area.

Movati Athletic CEO Chuck Kelly says the company is coming back to its roots.
"Movati, the health club started in Windsor over 24 years ago as Total Fitness by Alan Quesnel, we have continued to grow across Ontario," he says.
It currently has its corporate office in Windsor along with two fitness clubs in Amherstburg and Kingsville.
Kelly says the market is right for expansion.
"We have been expanding across Ontario and we are looking to the U.S. Currently we wanted to bring a club back to Windsor because we felt it was ready for it for a large format club."
Construction on Division Rd. began this month and Kelly says the company liked the location with its access and traffic patterns from the mall and EC Row.
This will be the company's 17th location across Ontario.
The group also announced a $25,000 donation to the Miracle League of Amherstburg.
