Eleven local veterans of the Korean War are keeping warm thanks to some local quilters.
The vets have been presented with 'Quilts of Valor' - hand made by the local 'Quilts of Valor Chapter.'
Spokesperson Janet Bergeron says it's a way to say 'thank-you' to the vets for their service. "To give them some comfort, let them know people care about them. For me it's something I could never do for my own dad but I am able to do for some of these other veterans."

Local Korean War Veteran, Peter Remdenok applauds the women who make the quilts. "It's a costly affair, they could probably get $100 or more a piece for them if they were selling them and they give them to us free, so my gosh, it's really wonderful."
130 of the quilts have been made and distributed locally while 8,000 are being handed out across Canada.
