Windsor Pride Finds Temporary Home

A new home for Windsor Pride.
The group's new community centre is moving to a temporary home at 1106 Ouellette Ave. in partnership with Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare.
Windsor Pride was in need of a new home after being forced out of their current office at the Pelissier St. Parking Garage as part of a city council decision to create more parking spaces and do away with the retail spots.
Windsor Pride was required to be out by the end of June.
"We are grateful to our collaborative partner at HDGH for realigning and supporting the needs of the LGBT+ community," says Bob Williams with Windsor Pride in a statement. "Both organizations have a strong commitment to the health and wellness of everyone in Windsor-Essex whether it is to the mind, body or both."
The decision to move the community centre to the Ouellette Ave. location was made this week.
"Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare is very pleased to be working with the Windsor Pride Community Centre during this important period of transition," says Shari Cunningham, Hotel-Dieu Grace Healthcare Board Chair. "Hôtel-Dieu Grace Healthcare and Windsor Pride Community Centre share many of the same values placing community first and ensuring timely and convenient access to programs and services."
Move-in day is set for July 3.
