Get used to this hot and humid weather.
Although there may be a bit of a reprieve in the heat warning Thursday evening, the hot and humid weather is likely to return this weekend and last into next week.
Speaking on AM800's the Afternoon News, Environment Canada Severe Weather Preparedness Meteorologist Geoff Coulson says this is going to be a long stretch.
"This air mass, it took a long time to get up here, the spring really lasted quite a long period of time with cooler temperatures, a fair amount of precipitation through May and into June but as we got into the end of June, starting to see more traditional summer like weather patterns setting up."
Coulson says this is nothing new for this area.
"We know in the extreme southwest, we know Windsor is the humidex capital of Canada, heat and humidity is something that we tend to deal with in the summer months and certainly this is setting up to be a good stretch of real summer like weather."
Temperatures will be around 30C, but the humidex values will make it feel more like in the high 30s.
