A large group of community leaders is coming together to help young people in Windsor Essex get a good start towards a successful life.
More than 30 organizations will be pooling money, talent and resources to complete a "cradle to career" vision called "Prosper Us" that will give a boost to kids who need it most.
United Way Executive Director Lorraine Goddard not every child gets the same level of help.
"The challenge that we face is that there are inequalities that still exist and we have to acknowledge that some kids need more to get to the finish line," she says. "It's really a different approach to ensuring access to all of those supports."
Goddard says data is being developed at the grass roots.
"We're mapping it neighbourhood by neighbourhood and we're looking to understand what's happening in key neighbourhoods in our community," says Goddard.
She adds the program will constantly evolve as everyone collaborates moving forward and the effectiveness is assessed.
A second meeting of the group was held Tuesday morning.

A "baseline" report for the program will be released in early 2019.
