A 44 week program will be offered for 36 students.

A new training partnership has been announced between Premier Aviation and St. Clair College.

The partnership is a 44 week program that will train 36 aircraft maintenance and repair workers for Premier's maintenance, repair and overhaul facility at Windsor Airport.

It's being funded by a $293,000 grant from both the Federal and Provincial governments however Premier, the college and the city are will fund the balance of the $440,000 program.

College President Patti France says as of now it's only a 44 week program.

"I think Premier is certainly is hoping to have more intakes so originally they wanted to double the 36 and maybe do 72, 75 but we thought let's start small and make sure it's very successful and then we can go from there," says France.

Following the 44 week program, the 36 individuals are guaranteed a full time job with Premier Aviation.

An open house to learn more about the program takes place next Tuesday December 6th at 6pm at Premier's site on County Road 42.
