Windsor's mayor is voicing concerns about liability stemming from an east end mountain bike track.
The track has existed for about ten years near the Little River Rd. entrance to the Ganatchio Trail.
The track was built by a group of cyclists in the park with shovels and buckets.
Speaking on AM800's the Morning Drive, Mayor Drew Dilkens says the city could be held responsible if someone gets hurt. "The reality is the city of Windsor gets sued a lot for all sorts of different things and we actually in the not to recent past had to pay out a claim for a 30-year-old gentlemen for a similiar type of situation."

"It is impossible for the city of Windsor to ignore these types of amateur type of setups in areas that we own without taking action and informing our insurers," says Dilkens. So it is not that we want to do something to make their life more difficult but we are responsible to protect the taxpayers."
Dilkens says the city can't ignore the risk factors here. "If you really like this type of thing, then we need to make sure it is designed properly and designed safely and when I look at the picture, I see the ramps are directly adjacent to trees and as a parent and as a lawyer, you look at those things and see it as a real big risk."
The bike park was set to be dismantled within the next few weeks.
Windsor city councillor Irek Kusmierczyk is asking administration to take a "pause" on plans to dismantle the track.
