Regular casino schedules will resume as of 11am on Thursday

The process to re-open the casino is now underway.

As of 11am on Thursday, Caesars Windsor and its amenities, including restaurants will re-open after a 60 day strike by casino workers.

Spokesperson Jhoan Baluyot says there is a lot that goes into opening back up.

"Ordering food, items that were perishable that we couldn't have and getting our vendors and suppliers to start deliveries, we also have to make sure that our property is top notch and clean and also that our assets again are available for use as soon as possible," says Baluyot.

When it comes to previous reservations and  bookings, she says the hotel sales team is working with people who had reservations cancelled.

"So anything that was previously booked and not rescheduled or had made other plans, then we will start taking new bookings on the 11th," says Baluyot. "Anything that was planned after the 16th when we had to do postponements and cancellations, will remain the same, just like any of our concerts."

The strike at Caesars Windsor has ended as members of Unifor Local 444 voted 75% in favour of a third tentative deal.

Close to 2,000 of the 2,100 members cast ballots at the Ciociaro Club today on the three-year deal.

Over the life of the agreement, full time workers will receive a total wage increase of $1.75 along with a signing bonus of $1,600.

There are improvements to the health benefits and new language to address chronic under-staffing and also creates a union-management committee focused on scheduling.
