The Afternoon News - Meet The Crew
Paul is in his 23rd year of working in radio news. He earned his diploma in Broadcast Journalism from Canadore College in North Bay, Ontario. He's worked at radio stations in Stratford and Sarnia and has spent the past 13-plus years in Windsor. Paul has anchored dozens of municipal, provincial and federal elections and was on the air during the massive blackout in August 2003. He worked with Steve Bell for six seasons on Spitfires hockey as color commentator and has done the pre-game show on AM 800 for the past three seasons. A native of LeRoy, New York, Paul has been married to his wife Kim for 16 years and they have a daughter Jade who's in Grade 10 at St. Joseph's High School. Kathie was born and raised in LaSalle. She attended Sandwich Secondary School and then went on to Niagara College to study Broadcasting: Radio, Television and Film. She graduated in 2001 with a scholarship and went to work at CKTB 610AM in St. Catherine's. Kathie joined AM 800 in 2004 as a reporter and also worked on the Lynn Martin Show. She was then the voice of weekend morning news for several years before landing The Afternoon News gig! She's an avid beach volleyball player, loves vegetarian cuisine and a nice cold beer.

Rusty was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, but raised in Parry Sound, Ontario. He got his first on-air job while still in high school working for CKLP 103.3. He graduated from the Broadcast Journalism program at Fanshawe College in London and returned to CKLP before moving on to 570 News in Kitchener. Rusty joined AM 800 on September 1st, 2000. Some of his most memorable moments include being the on-scene reporter for 570 News during the Walkerton Water Crisis, AM 800's coverage of the September 11th attacks, the Red Wings Stanley Cup victory in 2002 and the massive blackout in the summer of 2003.
